Prof. Stefan Schulte-Merker
Stefan Schulte-Merker is a developmental biologist and biomedical researcher who studies the lymphatic vasculature in zebrafish and mice. He has worked at the MPI in Tübingen (D), the NIMR in London (UK), and the Hubrecht Institute in Utrecht (the NL), before moving to Münster (Germany) where he is heading the Institute of Cardiovascular Organogenesis and Regeneration since 2014. He also serves as the current president of the European Zebrafish Society.

Dr. Andrea Pauli
Andrea Pauli is a developmental biologist and biochemist studying how the egg transitions into an embryo, and more specifically the molecular mechanisms underlying vertebrate fertilisations, egg dormancy, and subsequent egg activation. Her lab uses zebrafish as the main model organism. Andrea Pauli is a group leader at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) at the Vienna Biocenter in Austria.

Prof. Carl-Philipp Heisenberg
Carl-Philipp Heisenberg studied biology in Munich (Diploma 1992),
Cambridge (Master’s degree 1995) and Tübingen (PhD 1997, with Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard) and was a post-doctoral researcher at University College London. Starting from 2001, he was at the Max Planck Institute for molecular cell biology and genetics in Dresden as research group leader and Emmy Noether Junior Professor.
He has been a professor and group leader at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) since 2010.

Vienna’s cityscape is dominated by grand buildings, especially from the Baroque and Gründerzeit eras. Many interesting museums and theatres wait for your visit. Parks, cafés and restaurants for recreation can be found almost everywhere.
