Travelling to Vienna by public transport
Vienna has excellent train connections to many destinations in Austria and throughout Europe. From the train stations, you can easily reach us by public transportation:
–> From Hauptbahnhof (Central Station): S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S3, or underground line U1 to Praterstern station, then change to line U2 to Messe-Prater station
–> From Westbahnhof: Line U3 to Volkstheater station, then transfer to the U2 to Messe-Prater station
Examples of train connections for arrival and departure:
- ÖBB Railjet departs hourly from Innsbruck Central Station (e.g., 9:58 a.m., …), via Salzburg, Linz, St. Pölten, arriving at Vienna Central Station at 2:32 p.m.
- ÖBB Railjet departs hourly from Klagenfurt Central Station (e.g., 10:32 a.m., …), via Graz, Bruck/Mur, arriving at Vienna Central Station at 1:45 p.m.
- Westbahn hourly from Munich Central Station (e.g., 11:30 a.m., …), via Salzburg, Wels, Linz, St. Pölten, arriving at Vienna Westbahnhof at 3:52 p.m.

What to do
Vienna is definitely worth a visit. There is so much to see and do!
There are many museums and palaces to visit in Vienna, along with various parks.
The famous Prater is a big amusement park filled with rides and entertainment, including the oldest Ferris wheel in the world.
Hundertwasser House is a colourful place and a famous sight, with apartments and shops and a terrace café.
Vienna is safe and friendly, English is spoken almost everywhere.
